Vinny could feel the indecision in him, but waited and kept his arms gentle, he was a bit surprised to have Break slump against him though it wasn't entirely unwanted. He had all this devotion bottled up that he couldn't put anywhere else, and suddenly decided that he was going to give it to Break. ALL of it. Why? He wasn't entirely sure, perhaps because Break needed it more, perhaps because he just didn't want to keep it to himself anymore. The real reasoning was unclear to him, but he finally squeezed the other to him, as if he were precious and needed to be protected, his smirk returning as he went to petting Break's hair. He had long since withdrew it from Gil, he rested his head atop the others for a long moment, shutting his multicolored eyes and whispering for only Break to hear. "I'll stay by your side."

Having taken this step...it wasn't too far from what he'd really been wanting to do all this time. He gave in and buried his head in the taller mans shoulder, keeping the tears silent but they were still quite evident. An almost automatic purr escaped him when he was squished like that, having never felt such a feeling from Gil, though the petting was familiar...yet still soothing. It would be too easy to fall asleep in his arms like this. Before he could relax into that though, he had to get hit by another shock. He went tense for another half moment before giving an almost painful shudder of just too much emotion at once. He clutched tightly at the other man, feeling tears start to run harder, for a million reasons. It felt so strange and yet so...uplifting, at the same time.

The blond Nightray let him clutch tighter, holding him tighter in response to give him comfort in knowing he meant his words, slowly lifting Break from the floor and settling down on the edge of the tub with him in his lap. He didn't tell him that it was okay, or offer any words like that, because words weren't good enough sometimes. Instead he nuzzled his face into his silver hair and just let him cry, not saying a word or even seeming to notice, though he was just being quiet because he knew the other didn't like to cry around others. He didn't like to either, it was hard for him to do such things, even at his most broken he didn't shed tears. He could only ever remembering shedding them once, and that was after he had realized that a piece of him had to be torn away in order to move on, that piece that had loved Gil so much that he had eradicated from existence. He instead rubbed soothing circles into Break's back, focusing more on him now since he had someone else to take care of now, and that was always a more motivational thing that he could have never done alone. "Shall we get something to eat soon?" He couldn't cook well, but he could find someone who could in the house somewhere.

Break shifted somewhat so he could cry more comfortably once they moved and was just eternally grateful that Vince seemed to know how to deal with it right. Anyone else would have made him bottle it all up, but he managed to do everything just so so that break didn't draw back into himself. Considering how long he'd been keeping himself from crying, it wasn't a bad thing at all to let some of it out. He took a few moments to gather himself together after Vincents question, taking a few deep breaths and rubbing at those damned wet streaks. "Yeah..." Only now did he realize it had been far too long since he'd eaten, and it was amazing he hadn't passed out already. No wonder he was tired.

Vincent gave him a soft kiss to the forehead, resting his head on his shoulder a moment later as he considered just what to get them to eat. Course, he was already so tired that all he wanted to do was just go to sleep, instead of going to the kitchen and fixing something, but Break needed something in his stomach. The Nightray scooped him up and gave him a gentle nuzzle before taking his hand through his sleeve and leading him back down to the kitchen to find something for them both. He suddenly regretted killing Echo, she'd have come in handy about now, really he'd been neglecting to feed himself too, but not nearly as bad as one might have thought. Instead he frowned and tapped his chin. "So what do you think Xerxes?" Hopefully he'd have a suggestion to throw his way.

Break shivered lightly at the kiss, feeling an interesting little twist in his stomach that was half good half bad. He was just too wound up right now, sleep would definitely be in order, but Vince was right, food should come first. He clutched briefly at him when he was scooped up, again not seeming to know what to do with such affection, other than bask in it. He tried to keep thoughts of Gilbert from his mind as they moved down the hallway, not thinking about the times when he and Gil would do this. He was rather grateful for the distraction, feeling not up to cooking, but wanting to anyway to keep his mind off things. "I'll make some chicken and rice...that'll be pretty quick." He stated rather quietly, starting to move about this kitchen as if it was his own, ignoring that feeling of loss as he let go of Vincent.

Vincent blinked a few times when Break suddenly announced that he would make some chicken and rice, feeling a twinge of relief in him that he could easily explain, he was -that- bad at cooking. "At least one of us can." he mumbled softly, watching Break move about the kitchen as if he'd always lived here. He tilted his head to the side as he thought about a few times that he himself had tried cooking, only to have it fail miserably as he came to the conclusion in some of the most unpleasant ways that he really just shouldn't be anywhere near food. He instead leaned against the counter and chuckled. "Last time I tried, I nearly burnt down the kitchen." He admitted, there might have been just the faintest amount of blush on his face, but mostly because it embarrassed him to admit failure. He was supposed to be a genius, not a common man. He was pleasant about it in the end however. "Echo had to put out a fire or two." Ah, he really should just not cook anything, it was doomed to failure.

Break glanced back at Vincent, raising an eyebrow and almost looking a bit like his normal self, if you ignored the pained exhaustion on the rest of his face. It was rather amusing to think that the child genius couldn't do something as simple as cooking. "well I'll just have to make sure you aren't allowed to touch anything then." He waved his sleeve nonchalantly and put some water on to boil while he started cutting up the chicken, looking more and more relaxed as he lost himself to the work. There was also just something very enjoyable about cutting the meat so efficiently, perhaps he was imagining it as someone, though just who was the question.

Vincent sweatdropped just a little at Break's response. "Hai..." he was off in his own little world, his mind coming to terms with this and that, he sighed and ran a hand through his hair, thinking was a dangerous past time. For a moment or two, he tilted his head when he noticed that Break was cutting the meat and almost cheerfully. He chuckled softly and lightly moved over, carefully wrapping his arms around the other so that he didn't startle him into cutting himself and resting his chin on his shoulder. He closed his eyes and relaxed then, feeling the need to go to sleep right then and there. He could just imagine what Break was thinking about concerning that meat and let out a soft sigh, nuzzling his face into the man's shoulder and silently making a promise to himself that he would stop that marring his own skin with his scissors. He did it way too often, he had a good amount of wounds from taking them to himself, but now that Xerxes was here maybe he could stop. Having someone else around, always lessened the blow.

Vincent needn't have worried, since Break could feel him coming, but nonetheless Break welcomed the approach, sighing softly and wanting to sink back against him. He resisted the urge though, since he had a job to do. He was feeling more alive just with him near, which was an amusing thought. He finished cutting the meat and look a moment to lean his head tiredly against the other mans before forcing himself back up and scraping the cut meat into a pan, moving a little to pour the rice into the now boiling water before turning the heat up on the meat pan and snagging a spatula before glancing back at Vince with almost a bit of a grin, wondering if he'd regret this. "Think you could manage to shred cheese without setting anything on fire?"

Vincent gave something of a soft purr when he felt the other man's head against his, blinking when he finally was spoken to, he'd been almost half asleep standing there. He stifled a yawn with his hand and gave a nod, moving over and grabbing the cheese out of the fridge, finding the cheese grater without much trouble. The only thing either of them would have to worry about, would be him slicing into one of his fingers on accident, but this seemed to be one thing he could actually do without any problem. Moving the block over the grater and making sure to catch it on a paper towel, not allowing himself to space off this time and focus on making sure he didn't nick his fingers. When he was finished, he scooped the paper towel up and set it down next to the counter near Break, going back to his original position of cuddling against his back until he told him to move.

Break half turned his head to watch him for a few moments, as if really a bit worried about him, which he might be considering how tired he was looking. After a bit though he had to pay attention to the chicken and left VInce to his own devices. The smell in the kitchen was starting to become quite pleasing as he added this spice and that spice to the chicken, humming softly to himself and carefully making sure nothing burned or was not cooked well enough. He glanced over and gave Vince a bit of a smile as he placed the cheese down, chuckling a bit and nuzzling his head against the others. He was terribly cute like this, and he could even think about it and the resemblances without hurting too much. He finished the chicken and set it to the side, checking the rice and grabbing a bit of butter to put in it before nudging Vince gently. "If you get some plates I can serve this up." It was hard for him to do much with a sleepy Vincent attached to his back, so he might as well put him to some use.

Vincent ironically enough, reluctantly let go, and reached up to get a few plates from the cupboard, setting them down obediently next to Xerxes so he could serve up the food for them both. He was happy to be of some use, most of the time being banished from the kitchen entirely, he remembered younger days as a Nightray when he would sneak in to watch his brother, but those days were long ago when he still thought there was something worth seeing there. He chuckled softly and fingered his scissors in his pocket for a brief moment before taking the spoon from Break and putting a nice even portion on the plate, knowing that he was a big eater most of the time but given the circumstances a smaller amount would be best, then taking his own and leading them out onto the patio facing the forest in the backyard. He settled down and stared at the pines for a moment before taking his fork and starting to eat without ever giving it a second thought.

Break waited patiently for him to get the plates, starting to scoop the chicken in when he found the spoon being stolen from him. He turned slightly and gave Vince a curious look, which turned into a pout a few moments later as he saw his intent. "Vincennnntttt" He whined lightly, taking his plate with a rather forlorn look as he followed the other man out onto the patio, settling down across from him and idly picking at the rice, playing with more than eating it. It was hard to say if he was just thinking too hard or just being his usual sulky self. Probably the latter.

Vincent glanced over at the sulky albino, his multicolored eyes turning a bit darker before he banished such thoughts away, and instead stood up and walked over, crouching down next to his chair and smiling cheerfully at him. "Do you need a pick me up?" he asked curiously, reaching out and tugging on a bit of his hair playfully. "How about this, you eat, and then we'll do something fun of your choice." He was going to attempt to get his mind out of the darkness that he had shoved himself into due to Gilbert's lack of care. He wasn't sure why he had decided to shove all of his devotion onto Break still, but he had done so, and was now adjusting to it in a proper manner. There would be no more mistrust, other than the slight worry that Break might try to hurt himself again at some point, but other than that no worry.

Break glanced up with an unreadable expression as Vincent moved over, looking even more sulky at that cheerful smile being thrown at him. "I'm fine" He waved his sleeve irritably. "upstart brat, trying to make deals-" His breath hitched slightly then but he did his best to blow right past it and ignore the memory suddenly brought up. "All I want to do after this is sleep!" He huffed lightly and took a firm bite of rice, chewing grumpily.

Vincent attempted to hide his amusement at Break's grumpy response, but it was all in vain, as he just grinned and leaned up to give him a soft peck on the cheek. "That's better." He glanced at his own plate and let out a soft irritated sigh, he hadn't been feeding himself much, and he guessed that he shouldn't really be that surprised since he hardly took care of himself to begin with but...now he had a reason to. He just couldn't believe that he was here of all places now, and with the last person he would have expected. He settled down and attempted a bite, but the food which should have been good, just tasted like ash to him, all food tasted that way these days. He forced it down, feeling sick already, but took another couple of bites before setting his fork down and giving himself time to adjust to food in his stomach again.

Break huffed lightly at that obvious amusement, waving him away irritably, though having no problem noticing that once again Vince was doing the hypocrite dance. Not that he really blamed him, Break was the last person who would condemn a person for warning others away from the same problems he had experienced. He glanced away and chuckled rather darkly, except perhaps himself. But he was always harder on himself. He shook off the dark and smirked across the table, pointing his fork at the man across from him. "What's that face for? You trying to tell me after all that work to feed you I burned the chicken?~"

Vincent chuckled slightly before he glanced up at the man across from him. "I'm sure your cooking tastes amazing." He stated with a slight wave of his hand, looking back down at the chicken and attempting to take another bite. "This is the first time I've eaten willingly in quite awhile." He told him with a bit of a sigh, taking another tiny bite. He hadn't had much motivation to take care of himself lately, other than needing the energy in order to keep up with the Baskervilles but that wasn't too hard if you knew how to play your cards just right. After all, Vincent had been dancing the tightrope since he was young, this was no different, just a different chessboard.

Break arched an eyebrow, honestly having expected more of a snap than that sort of honesty, giving him a bit of a frown. Somehow he wasn't very surprised that Vince had been doing so, but he was at least making himself now, so that was good enough for the moment. He wasn't sure how much he had left to try and help Vincent but...he could at least try and cook semi regular meals. He sighed himself and took another few bites, chewing slowly and staring down at his suddenly empty plate. "..." He wasn't quite sure how so much got into his mouth without him noticing, but somehow it did. "hmp." He put the fork down and watched Vincent. "Well no more of that."

No more of...? Vincent frowned a bit before he nodded to Break and just poked at the remainder of the food, he wasn't going to force himself to eat, but he really he should put more down his stomach than that. It was already churning angrily enough so he just put the fork down and decided he'd save it for later when he knew it was a safe time to put more down it. He chuckled a bit when he noticed that Break looked rather grumpy that he had finished all of his and slowly got to his feet, taking the plate with him back into the kitchen and placing it in the cooler. He then returned and wrapped his arms around his shoulders. "Crabby..." he purred against his ear before resting his chin against his shoulder. "Let's go lay down now." He knew that Xerxes needed rest, he probably hadn't slept well in ages.

Break frowned more at seeing how much Vince had eaten, but he wasn't going to push him to eat more right now either. If it had really been that long since he'd eaten normally, then it would be counter productive. He sighed lightly and settled his head in his hand, staring off into the trees until Vince went koala on him again. He smiled faintly at that amusing image, breaking through the crappy a bit. Of course...Vince himself was pretty good at that alone. Out of a strange impulse he turned around and latched himself onto Vince, his arms wrapped tightly around his neck as he pouted into his shoulder. "Carry me~"

Vince blinked a couple of times before chuckling and wrapping his arms around the man, picking him up and cradling him rather easily. Break wasn't heavy, he was surprisingly light, and Vincent had never had much problem carrying people around, he had had to do so with Echo quite a few times, and she was much heavier than Break. Break was almost too light, it amused him and he was careful not to hit the other on anything as he carried him back to the room, his free hand softly stroking the man's hair. Most people would bitch that Break was just being lazy and should carry himself, Vincent just knew it was a way for him to make an excuse to be closer and not waste energy at the same time. So he didn't say anything about it, just obeyed and brought him back into the room, laying him down on the bed and going and shutting the door. He then just curled up on the other side and watched the man across from him with a rather innocent look, just thinking to himself.

Break purred contently as he was picked up, cuddling closer to the other man and holding on tight, as if he simply couldn't get enough. Despite this being someone he once had great animosity for, now...he was his greatest comfort. He sighed contently and rested his head on the others shoulder, pouting a bit when he was put down and stretching out on the bed tiredly, feeling that this bed was much nicer than the one he had back at the Riensworth manner. And that wasn't even factoring in the lack of emotional memories. When Vince returned Break resisted for all of about 5 seconds before he was across the bed and latched onto him, snuggling up comfortably as if he'd always been there and starting to drift off into a comfortable sleep immediately.

Vincent blinked as he was latched onto, a soft purr escaping him, before he closed his eyes and squeezed the other tightly. A lot of people were scared of hurting others that way, but Vincent knew that Break was not as fragile in body as he appeared, came from years of being on the receiving end of his wrath, but he hadn't really blamed him for much. Reaching up he gently ran a hand through his hair, burying his nose in it a second later and drifting off to sleep rather easily. He never had much trouble doing that, since Yamane's influence was always there in some form or another. A soft hum escaped him as he finally did drift off, dreamless for once, which he was quite grateful for.
