Gyasi x Gilbert

This was so wrong! He wasn't supposed to be doing this, yet as he streaked down the halls of Pandora, breathless and frantic...there was nothing else left to do. He hadn't known why his father had stayed with their mother for as long as he had, but this damned trail he'd been forsaken on, it needed to end. The Nightray pulled himself to a stop just outside the area that led to the dungeons, he'd listened to them and had cursed his parent's honesty. Gilbert had wanted to take responsibility for it, even though he hadn't known. He could shoot them and just take his father back by force, because even though in spite of what Sekani said, Gyasi was convinced that Vincent, was not as good intentioned as he claimed to be. "No mother of mine." He repeated coolly, knocking both guards out easily and shimming his way down into the basement. For a moment the shuffling of feet could be heard coming towards him, he soon turned and brought the force of the lead pipe he'd acquired around, knocking that guard out as well. He grabbed the keys off the man's belt, and rushed forward.

The cells were not shared, so he wouldn't have to worry about accidentally breaking someone else out, naturally he shuffled down the cold corridors, Echo on his heels silently. The two of them didn't say a word as they passed what was supposed to be Vincent's cell, unsurprised to see it was empty. He couldn't be that far off however, so Gyasi rushed forward. "Echo, kill him if you see him." The marionette nodded silently, standing there in the middle and keeping her eyes open for the blond haired man. Gyasi in the meantime scooted down the hall further until he came to Gilbert's cell door. Ever since that time he had tried to run away at the age of 15, he had not looked at Vincent Nightray, nor much of his family in the same manner as he used to. "Come on, we're leaving." He stated, his voice a dull blade. He wasn't going to take no for an answer.

Gil stared blankly at the cell wall across from him, mostly out of it and deeply involved in his own thoughts. It was rather understandable, considering what he'd just learned, and about the person that had been one of his most important people to him. He sighed deeply and ran a hand through his hair, his eyes wide and dark. He'd dealt with the situation as best he felt but...it was still a shock. That more than anything hurt and strangely enough made it easier for him to do what he had. He considered it his failure that this whole mess had happened, so it was only right he take the responsibility for it. He didn't notice the thuds in the distance, but even in his very internalized state it was hard to miss his son standing in front of cell, speaking in such a tone. "Gyasi?...what...are you doing here?" He stood up, but probably much to Gyasi's annoyance wasn't exactly jumping out the door. He was a man very much of his word, though it wasn't just that that was holding him back. He was still in a fair bit of shock and his mind wasn't working as quick as it might, he hadn't really registered just what his son was trying to do.

Gyasi frowned at the others question, walking the small distance to grab his father's arm. "No time for questions, we need to get you out of here, now." He turned to Echo then, his eyes narrowing in determination. "Clear a path, but don't kill anyone." He watched her zip out of the dungeon then, being quick to follow her, dragging his poor confused father behind him. Echo did just that for him, clearing the path by knocking out any Pandora Official that got in the way, though Gyasi gave a shout of halt when she was about to knock Oscar out.

"Gyasi, what are you doing?" Oscar Vessalius asked confusedly, though he couldn't say he was disappointed with the boy's performance.

"He doesn't deserve to die." He said quietly in answer, pulling the other along after him, although his father would probably just get prison for a number of years for only being an unknowing accomplice. He was not about to take chances however, there was no room for any sort of error. "Now if you'll excuse me, i have to save the only family I have left. Oscar." He then tugged Gil out without giving him a moment's notice, practically shoving him in the carriage after Echo, and settling down, his eyes hard as he thought about what would have to be done soon.

Gil blinked several times in confusion, staring down at his sons hand on his arm before stumbling after him as they started moving. His brain was starting to kick into gear somewhat, but he didn't pull away from his son. "Gyasi..." He wasn't sure what to say. He felt loved but...he had accepted the responsibility and he didn't like running away, but it wouldn't be the first time he'd been not quite with the authorities either. And while he waffled on the issue, they just kept on going. Maybe the shock was still affecting his brain. He felt rather muddled still, making him even more clumsy than usual on the way out, almost falling on his face on the way into the carriage, only saved from it by the ever agile echo. He settled in the corner then, silent and torn, uncertain and confused, and very much feeling betrayed, hurting, and guilty. Guilty over everything and many things everyone would say was nothing.

Gyasi looked at Echo, finally sighing and laying down beside her on the seat, muttering an order before he fell asleep. "Make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, like try to go back." He then closed his eyes and was lost to the world. Echo the ever silent guardian staring at Gilbert with expressionless eyes, but it was clear her focus was completely on him now. She felt nothing at all, completely indifferent to the situation, but Gyasi had managed to win over her loyalty and treated her far better than Vincent had ever done.

After a few hours Gyasi stirred, only to see his father with that same lost look on his face, a frown marring his own. "Your loyalty will be the death of you." He stated rather coolly. Multicolored eyes far harder than they had once been when the boy could be considered happy. He had no trouble, unlike his poor parent, just shoving aside the fact that Vincent was family. As far as he was concerned, his mother, was his enemy. Vincent had ensured that the moment he had first begun to suspect him of being a Baskerville, and even though Sekani continued to preach that their mother was only doing it to protect their father and them, he begged to differ. He was lost. There was no redemption for such a man who could not change his ways. He dug his own grave.

Gyasi let out a soft irritated sigh. "What were you thinking? We're you going to leave me all alone? I still need at least one parent that cares about me!" he knew he sounded selfish,but he didn't care. All these years of feeling isolated from both his parents, and then being tricked into contracting with his chain, only to be dragged back to the place by a possessive brother and a mother whom constantly held the threat of the family death over his head, was a bit too much to take.

Gilbert hardly stirred at all during those intervening hours. He had pretty much returned to the state he had been in the cell, except now worse because the situation had become all that much more complicated. He sort of came out of it a little as he heard Gyasi's voice and realized his son was awake again. For the first time in a bit he -really- came out of it, seeing his son with new eyes, and seeing much that did not make him very happy. He'd grown up...all without Gilbert really noticing. And there he was, too much like his brother in some ways, and so terribly unhappy himself. He felt a stab of even more guilt, only to have it added on to by Gyasi's next words. He bit his lip and looked down, knowing his son was entirely justified, though he'd had his jumbled reasons at the time. "I'm sorry...Gyasi.." He looked up sadly at his son, saying about all there was to be said. Anything else...was just words. There wasn't many good reasons for doing what he had, and he believed he'd had some..but in his shock he'd narrowed his focus too much and left the one person that really needed him out of his considerations.

*Sorry is all he can say?* He blinked at the rather purring like voice before his eyes narrowed more. Oi that chain! If he was out, he'd of smacked him hard. Gyasi put a hand to his head and thought things over carefully, he was going to get his father appealed, but he was also going to attend his mother's death, he swore. He sighed and slipped across the carriage to sit beside his father, wrapping his arms around him in a comforting manner. "You're upset, I understand, but ..." he sighed and held back the 'He's not worth it' with effort. Just about anything else that wanted to come out of his mouth at this point was just spiteful, and he rested his head against his father's shoulder. "Sekani left home..." he mumbled gently, he had refused to go with him, which had made his brother terribly upset. Though Gyasi didn't believe in running away from his problems. He was going to solve them. "So don't be surprised when you don't see him, for now, we're going home....my home."

Gil almost wished his son would lash out at him more. The feelings of guilt were telling him that he deserved that and a great deal more. He'd suddenly discovered just how blind he had been for so very long and that more than anything made him ashamed. He shifted a bit uncomfortably when he son wrapped his arms around him, not because he was repulsed, but because he felt Gyasi should be repulsed by him. He was briefly distracted by the mention of Sekani, but seeing as it involved what he should have expected he let out a heavy sigh, again feeling the bite of failure. He was a horrible parent, a horrible brother, a horrible servant...a horrible everything. "Your home?..."

*Heh, he's punishing himself on the inside again." Gyasi frowned a bit, he'd already figured, considering his father didn't seem to do much of anything else these days, another reason he had decided to get him out of that place. It wasn't at all healthy for him. "Mhm, remember that day I ran away when I was younger?" Probably not, though he had been surprised before, he only remembered his mother having been really upset about it, but that was because Gyasi had tried to slip out of his grasp. He couldn't say he much cared. "Lady Sharon held the apartment for me, so when I was old enough, I could just move in. I did it about a month ago." While his father was still wandering around with his mother. He sighed lightly. "And stop beating yourself up, that won't fix anything. You're ...you're not at fault." He wanted to smack Vincent down, but that might not be the best idea at the moment. He wanted to help, not make things worse.

Gil frowned and sighed lightly, he did remember, vaguely. He hadn't really been involved but Vince had mentioned it as just a teenager act of rebellion and such. He closed his eyes and nodded, really hating the feeling of how blind he had been for all these years. "I'm.." He wanted to say he wasn't beating himself up, but there was no denying that in truth. "I was...I didn't do anything...I just let this all happen...I could have stopped this if only I had paid more attention to your mother...more attention to you and your brother...It's all my fault.."

Gyasi sighed a bit and shook his head a few moments later. "I seriously doubt you could have done anything to prevent it whereas mom was concerned, and Sekani's an idiot." Okay fine, no more holding back, he just couldn't be nice to them, even if they were family. Gy rolled his eyes after a few moments and glanced out the window. "Mom's evil, I know it's hard for anyone to accept, especially you since you're close and all. He's evil though, betrayed all of us. LIED to you." He was just letting the darkness seep out of him, he'd been holding it in since he was ten years old, the first time he had begun to realize that something was not right about their mother. When he had been returned home by Oscar, after having gotten lost at a festival. He had had many mishaps like that since he was young. Being kidnapped once as well, it was no wonder he was the darker child...even if Sekani being as possessive as he was.

Gil blinked a couple times, surprised by the sudden change in his sons tone as he started talking about his brother, though he was reluctant to give up that sense of guilt, perhaps because it was easier for him to think better of them and that he might have been able to do something if only he had noticed. He frowned and bowed his head, listening reluctantly but at this moment as much as he wanted to think better of the rest of the family, it hurt most to see the darkness in this son. He wrestled with the guilt for a few more moments before leaning over and hugging his son tightly, hiding the budding tears in his shoulder. "I'm sorry Gyasi..." That seemed to be all he could say, but what else was he supposed to?

Gyasi sighed and didn't say anything for a few moments, the anger towards his mother not ceasing in the slightest, especially with all the apologizing his other parent was doing. "Didn't I just say it's not your fault? You need your ears checked." He muttered rubbing his father's back soothingly and all the while the darkness in him just roiled directing all at that one person. VIncent was seriously going to be lucky to get a word out before he dropped dead next time they met. He glanced at Echo, he -really- just wanted to order her to go and find him, but at the same time he did not trust her enough to do so. Paranoid young man that he was, he didn't trust much of anyone. He settled back against the seat and focused on rubbing his father's back for now, determined to keep one family member alive at the very least, and the only one worth saving at this point.

Gil actually managed a bit of a sad smile at that and nuzzled against his son, finding it not really funny in the way someone might expect, but it was an improvement. He was mostly in this word at least. "I am still gulity...I did not see and did nothing to help you..." It was still a much lighter form of guilt than what he'd been suffering before, at some point during all of this the larger ones had settled into the background, here but just sort of slowly eating away rather than consuming him wholly. "So I'm sorry." He hugged him tighter. "I wasn't the father you deserve..."

Gyasi rolled his eyes, it was hard not to what with his father sitting here and apologizing when the other parent should have been doing so, not that Gy would have given him a chance to do so more than likely. He sighed a bit and hugged the other back, burying his face into his shoulder. He could still say it to this parent at the very least, and figured he needed to hear it again, because Gyasi said it so little. "I love you." That was more than he could say for most of his family, whom he'd come to despise over the years, and as wonderful and warm of a child as he had been, the adult had buried it away and had thrived in the things that he had picked up over the years to distract himself from the real problem. "I'm sorry more...but sorry isn't good enough, we need to just move on." That would take time, but he knew what he was saying was the truth.
