PostSubject: Cheshire x Gil   Sun May 01, 2011 1:24 am

Cheshire's ears flickered a bit as he heard the other enter from the bathroom, he noticed that he was frozen over again at the sight of him and licked at a paw disdainfully, momentarily distracted by the flickering of his tail. He went to grab at it and felt the blanket slide just a bit under his paw, giving it a bit of a sour look. He growled a bit before suddenly pouncing on the blanket, attacking it almost viciously before gnawing on it to punish it for moving, his ears lowered on his head before he remembered the other was there and his ears flickered back up before moving back and forth a bit, listening. He purred a bit and finally dropped the blanket, watching the other with a bit of a bland look. "Cheshire thinks you overreact too much at the sight of him." He pointed out his voice void of emotion, "That's not going to get you far in the future." He suddenly narrowed his eye, twin to Break's, "Course Cheshire thinks you're not going to improve much, but what do chains know?"

Cheshire was about the last thing a amnesia ridden Gilbert expected to see. Even if he hadn't had it he probably wouldn't have expected the cat to return. Either way, the poor neko phobic man was in no good state at the sight of who was likely the source of said phobia, though since he couldn't remember who could know. He flinched and squeaked lightly as the cat suddenly pounced on his blankets, as if imagining them as himself, though seeing the cat play around and make no overtly threatening moves was slowly starting to dethaw him a little. The cats words were enough to finish the process, though he still had a healthy dose of wariness. "Considering what you were doing the last time I saw you, I think much else would have been ridiculous" He growled/muttered lightly, though his phobia was nothing he was proud of, but he was hardly going to welcome the cat who had caused so much trouble and attacked him before with open arms. Especially since he had no idea he was now bonded to said cat.

"And to think Nightray is Cheshire's contractor." He spit out, licking at his paw, and resting his head against the bed, his bottom half still in the air, to where he literally fit the image of lazy cat. Face dull and ears twitching a bit before he got a rather venomous idea. "Course, it's all blond boy and clown's fault, Cheshire doesn't understand why they did that nyaa." You know what they said about cats, beware the wrath of a feline, for it lasted for 7 generations. He rolled over and laid flat on his back, pawing at the air playfully. Before he, like so many before him, suddenly became hyper and shot up, disappearing or so it seemed only to reappear behind Gil and study him curiously, now that he got a better look perhaps he could whip his contractor into shape. "Cheshire still thinks you're utterly hopeless." But maybe he could change that with time. He walked around the other calmly but it was a ruse seeing as he zipped off a second later, hyperactive.

For several seconds after Cheshire so bluntly explained the situation, Gilbert just stood there and stared blankly at him, as if he hadn't heard the words. Then he suddenly snapped to life and shook his head with a bit of a growl. "I am not-" He stopped as suddenly as he started when he felt a weird twinge in his chest. Now that he turned his attention inward somewhat, he came to a terrifying realization. There was...no Raven. He could not sense him, there was no feeling that he would immediately recognize as the bird who'd been inside of him for several years now. Instead...there was something else. The undeniable fact that he was still a contractor, but not to the same chain. His disbelief and irritation turned to shock and panic. What had happened..? He hardly even heard Cheshires words, so deeply involved that he didn't even freak out at him appearing so close behind him. He didn't even notice.

Finally, the shock started molding into horror, and anger. He couldn't remember much, it was most muggy flashes, but there were two moments of clarity. The first, his desperate attempt to keep Raven, and the second involving Oz being pulled into the abyss. At those moments the adrenaline had briefly pushed back the poison. "That...man!!" His hands clenched and his head snapped up with a vicious fire in his eyes. He strode out the door without a word to Cheshire, though it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what his intention was.

Alice was quick to notice the cloud of darkness storming towards the breakfast group, tilting her head. "Seaweed head still looks funny!" Gil took no notice of the rabbit as he made a b-line for the clown.

Cheshire watched his human storm from the room, before he got a bored expression, and realized the error of his ways. "Cheshire is hungry..." he muttered, of course not caring that he had totally caused havoc for someone else. Break was hardly on his 'I give a shit' list. He stretched before using his scarves to teleport himself down to the kitchen, landing atop a counter and starting everyone in there, a few ran in terror, but most just stared in shock at the giant cat boy on the counter. "Cheshire is hungry, nyaa." He repeated, giving his menacing claws a lick, before he narrowed his eye on the one he assumed was in charge. "Get Cheshire something to eat." He ordered with a growl, watching them become more lively then, laying on the counter and eying them with a dubious grumpy stare.

Break had been rather prepared for this sort of thing, for a moment he didn't react at all, not until the boy was within reaching distance then quickly moved out of the way. "And what were we supposed to do?" He asked the fuming Nightray, "allow you to die with Raven?" Once again he danced out of the way, not phased by Gilbert's anger. "Cheshire is able to balance the seal, he's strong enough to keep it from breaking fully, but if we had continued to allow you the road you were on, you'd be dead now. What use would you be to your master then?"

Cheshire strolled out of the kitchen, waiting for his food to be done, and eying the Hatter as he danced just out of his contractor's reach. His eye narrowing in irritation. "Cheshire still blames you, nyaa. You took him away from Alyss." He swatted him and actually managed to knock him into the opposing wall, none too gently.

"And that's exactly my point, Cheshire." Break stated getting up as if he hadn't been struck. "Did your mistress even care to comfort you when you went back?" He shot at him, already knowing there was a good 75 percent chance that he hadn't gotten the sympathy he'd wanted.

The cat actually faltered a bit at that, looking a bit unsure of himself for a moment, before he suddenly glared at Break. "Alyss...." he shut his mouth, knowing he couldn't deny the Hatter's words, which really annoyed him. "Cheshire doesn't need nor want sympathy!" He suddenly decided, too proud to be beaten by that sentence.

The one thought burning in Gilbert's mind was how much he'd wanted to kill Break at that moment and how much he wanted to finish the process right now. His anger was appeased neither with his words nor this dancing around. His attempts to reason with him only made him more angry. "So you believe! But what if I hadn't?! Oz got dragged into the abyss because of you! What the hell would you have done if he'd been taken by the Will of the Abyss huh?! Fat lot of good I would have done him then! I could have survived the poison but you'd rather risk Oz's life!" He watched unsympathetically at Cheshire joining in, still more than happy to see Break suffer for the disaster he'd very nearly started. For once he and his new chain were of one goal, but it'd probably be the last time for a while.

Cheshire growled low in his throat, thinking about what the Hatter had just said to him, and warring with himself for a few moments before what the cat had actually said came back full force and he suddenly decided he didn't care anymore. He would still care about Alyss yes, but not quite to the same degree he had before. Sympathy, comfort, and understanding all lacked in the cat's life and for the first time in a -long- time he was aware of it.

Oz had just returned from helping Sharon with a few things, only to watch Cheshire slam Break into the wall, watching quietly for a few moments before he heard what both his servant and the cat had to say. He then moved forward and grabbed Gil by the arm. "That's enough! Break only did it to save you, and I couldn't just stand by and do nothing, stop it. Friends shouldn't fight."

Cheshire's ears flattened a bit, his look at Oz almost venomous. He scowled and instead turned his attention back to the window, being crabby both from lack of food and being shoved with these strange people. "Cheshire is not a friend, nyaa." He corrected, not even looking over his shoulder at the boy. Oz said nothing to that, though he sighed and looked up at his servant.

"Cheshire is -your- chain now, just try your best to accept it, I know its' hard." He couldn't reach his head, being too short, but smiled encouragingly. "And he needs you now."

The neko's ears flickered a bit before he scowled even more, wanting to lash out at the boy, but had more self control. "Cheshire does -NOT- need sympathy." He spat again, continuing to stare out the window, at nothing in particular.

Gil didn't notice Oz until he was right there next to him, swinging around at the touch before he realized it was his master. He was still to angry to back down though and he had to seriously bite down the words that Break was no friend of his because it would not make Oz happy and it would be a statement of pure anger. Not that he was ever entirely sure about that even when he was in a good mood. With Oz there though, he sourly settled down somewhat, his expression at that encouraging smile more like one that would be on Cheshire's face. He gave the younger looking boy a decidedly disbelieving stare at the thought of the cat -needing- him. Normally he was quick to be the sympathetic one and responds to someones need, but for one this was a chain...a cat chain who had a bad history with them, and two he was still burning with anger. He'd been checked but he hadn't been soothed. The hardest part wasn't even that Cheshire was his chain now, sadly enough. Though it still...he couldn't imagine what the hell they were thinking when they did such a stupid thing.

He took several deep breaths, trying to calm himself. It wasn't very successful but at least he was trying. He turned to stare at the cat for several moments, wondering just what the heck he was supposed to do with him, not just in a contractor way but in the fact that all of a sudden everyone seemed to think he was magically going to...he didn't even know what. What the heck did everyone expect him to do? He glanced over at him again and frowned, reluctantly admitting to himself that he did seem to be...a bit sad. And not so much about being stuck with all of them he felt. He still had no idea what to do, though after a few moments he remembered just where Cheshire had appeared from and looked over towards the kitchen, seeing the cooks scurry around. "Are you hungry Cheshire?" It was as good of place to start as any.

Cheshire growled a bit at the sound of his name, his head turning towards the man that was his contractor now, not at all thrilled. Though thankfully, still very hungry. He felt his tail swish a bit, before finally standing and giving a reluctant nod. "Cheshire is very..." he mumbled, though wasn't at all pleased with the idea of being fed by this man. He would have to learn to get used to it though, because even the cat being as independent as he was, refused to reject the man as his contractor. There was always that fear that Gil would reject him, and then, they'd both die. In fact, the cat wasn't even bringing up that, in case it provoked the other into doing it. Instead, he followed the other silently into the kitchen, eying the cooks and servants with disdain. "They don't know how to feed Cheshire correctly." he grumped, once again showing that he was entirely too proud by nature, and that he was quite picky about who did what for him.

Gil gave a mental sigh of relief as Cheshire confirmed his suspicion, because if he hadn't he didn't know what the heck he was going to do. As it was though he gave the cat a tremulous smile and started back towards the kitchen. His first inclination was to load up all the fish he could and pile it in front of Cheshire, but he was afraid to treat Cheshire -too- much like a cat. Sure he was a cat..but he was also a chain and exceptionally intelligent, not to mention proud. He had no idea how he was supposed to feed him or just about anything else. He winced a bit at Cheshires grump, since he didn't know either, and tried to phrase the question to make it sound like he did. "How would you like your fish? Or would you prefer some chicken?" He almost sounded professional there.
